Long-range local communication
LoRa provides a practical way to connect distributed sensors to a gateway over longer distances than typical short-range wireless technologies, while keeping sensor deployments cable-light.

MATIS IoT platform
MATIS is an end-to-end IoT monitoring architecture for collecting sensor data in the field and making it available remotely through a private customer interface.
Talk to MATIS →How MATIS works
MATIS uses ESP32-based sensor nodes and a gateway communicating over LoRa. The gateway acts as the bridge between the local wireless sensor network and the internet. In production deployments, cellular connectivity is the primary uplink, allowing the gateway to operate without relying on the customer’s Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Sensor data and events are sent to the MATIS backend and presented through the customer interface. Each gateway owner has access to their own gateways and paired sensors, creating a clear separation between different customer installations.
Sensors collect the measurements or states required by the application and communicate locally over LoRa.
The gateway manages the local sensor network and provides the bridge to the cloud.
The production gateway uses GSM/cellular connectivity as its primary internet uplink.
Customers can see their own gateways, sensors, data and alerts through the MATIS interface.
LoRa provides a practical way to connect distributed sensors to a gateway over longer distances than typical short-range wireless technologies, while keeping sensor deployments cable-light.
Pairing sensors to a gateway keeps nearby MATIS networks separated. The gateway becomes the managed hub for its own sensor installation.
The combination of wireless sensing, cellular internet connectivity and cloud monitoring is aimed at installations that need visibility without constant physical presence.
